The Story of "Book-Buddy"

Reading fascinated me as a child. It was mysterious to me that my older sister could tell such mesmerizing stories as her eyes moved over the words. After I learned to read, my favorite time of the week was going to the library with my classmates. The school librarian convinced me that it was necessary for me to critique each new Nancy Drew book before she dared put it on the library shelves for the other children to read.

My love of reading and studying has grown through the years and I always have a book handy just in case! Coffee shops, airplanes, and the doctor’s office – I’m never without a book to read or study.

I like to mark in my books with just the right pen and highlighter. When I go to the beach or read on my patio, I gather up my collection of books, pens and eyeglasses usually dropping or losing something along the way. I came up with a plan to solve my problem by attaching all the loose items to the book and created my first “Book-Buddy”. I discovered just the right materials by trial and error and found that I didn’t want just one “Book-Buddy” to switch from book to book, but preferred to have one on every book I’m reading. I hope you will enjoy your “Book-Buddy” as much as I like mine and that you will get pleasure from giving them to your friends as much as I enjoy giving them to mine.
